Frequently Asked Questions..
A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the amount of income tax you would otherwise owe. For example, claiming a $1,000 federal tax credit reduces your federal income taxes due by $1,000. The federal tax credit is sometimes referred to as an Investment Tax Credit, or ITC. The federal residential solar energy credit is a tax credit that can be claimed on federal income taxes for a percentage of the cost of a solar PV system paid for by the taxpayer. Of course, it is obviously recommended to consult your tax professional before making any decisions.
Net Metering is a special metering and billing agreement between utilities and their customers that facilitates the connection of small, customer-owned renewable energy-generating systems ( Your Rooftop Solar Array) to the power grid. Net metering programs encourage small-scale renewable energy systems and ensures that customers always have a reliable source of energy from the grid during times when their renewable solar systems are not producing energy. The electric meter of a net metering customer’s renewable solar generator records the energy delivered both to and from the electric grid. Net metering customers are charged only for the "net" power that they consume, which represents the difference between energy delivered to the grid and energy delivered from the grid. If their renewable energy-generating systems make more energy than is consumed, they will be credited for the excess energy contributed to the grid. Different Utility companies have different policies so your Utility may have specific rules and guidelines.
Typically, the install will take 1-3 days to complete. The permitting and engineering process is different for every Jurisdiction. Generally, from contract signing to the first panel going on your roof will be about 45 days.
The ideal direction for solar panels to face is South due to our location in the Northern Hemisphere. The productive solar window is due east to west so anything in that range will work.
Not in all cases. A standing seam metal roof does not require penetration. All other roof styles do require penetration to safely mount the solar racking to the roof rafters. All our solar specific mounts have a flashing that creates a waterproof seal. Your consultant will show you an example of what will be used on your specific home.
Solar panels are mounted either on your roof or can be ground mounted on property if the location is fitting with a clear view of the sky. Depending on your specific project, Inverter and combiner boxes etc. will be mounted on the house. We will go over the equipment locations and proposed conduit runs with you on site prior to installation.
In most cases, nothing out of pocket! Your solar PV system will be a custom designed and engineered fixture for your specific home. Our energy consultants create a custom proposal for you that will outline design, sizing, costs, and financing options, and possible Federal, and local incentives like tax credits and rebates that are available to you. We walk you through our transparent process and pricing during an in-home appointment, our design office visit, or virtually over the phone or Zoom conference.
25 years period. Front to back, Bumper to Bumper. Labor, Materials etc. However you want to slice it, it's covered. If you have any issues with your array, BeeGreen Solar will replace the product on behalf of the manufacturer. Your Warranty is also transferable in the event you move.
A good quality system will require minimal maintenance over time. Typically the main item the homeowner can look for is keeping the panels clean. In dry months, heavy soiling from leaves, dirt, and pollen can slow solar production, but a simple rinse or heavy rain is usually enough.
